Abdominal Ultrasound
Fast for a minimum of 6–8 hours before your appointment (no food or drink, except water). You may take essential medications with a small sip of water. Avoid chewing gum and smoking during the fasting period. A referral from your doctor is required.
Aorto-Iliacs Artery Doppler
Fast for 6–8 hours prior to the examination to reduce bowel gas, which can interfere with visualisation of the aorta. Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. A referral is required.
Breast Ultrasound
No special preparation is required. Wear a two-piece outfit for easy access. Avoid applying deodorant, talcum powder, or perfume to the breast or underarm area on the day of your scan. A referral from your GP or specialist is required.
Carotid Artery Doppler
No special preparation is required. Wear a loose-fitting top or open-neck shirt for easy access to the neck. Avoid wearing necklaces or jewellery around the neck. A referral is required.

Fast for 2 hours before the procedure. Inform staff if you are taking blood thinners (e.g., warfarin, aspirin, clopidogrel) — you may need to cease these before the procedure. Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. A referral is required.
AU$100.00 gap fee
CT Scan (Contrast)
Fast for 2 hours prior to your appointment. Please inform us of any allergies, kidney conditions, or diabetes medications (especially Metformin).
CT Scan (Non-Contrast or Contrast)
For contrast CT: fast for 2 hours before your appointment. Inform staff if you have kidney disease, diabetes (especially if taking metformin), or a known allergy to contrast dye. Drink plenty of water before and after the scan. For non-contrast CT: no fasting required. Wear comfortable clothing without metal zips or clasps. A referral is required.
Dating Scan (Early Pregnancy)
Drink 600–800 mL of water and finish it 1 hour before your appointment. Do not empty your bladder before the scan — a full bladder improves visualisation in early pregnancy. A referral from your GP or obstetrician is required.
AU$100.00 gap fee
DEXA / BMD Scan (Bone Density)
Do not take calcium supplements for 24 hours before the scan. Wear comfortable clothing without metal buttons, zips, or underwire bras — you may be asked to change into a gown. Inform staff if you have had a recent nuclear medicine scan, barium study, or contrast injection. A referral is required.
Doppler Arm Vein / Artery
No special preparation is required. Wear loose-fitting clothing that allows easy access to the arm. Avoid tight-fitting sleeves or jewellery on the arm being examined. A referral is required.

Doppler Varicose Veins
Wear loose-fitting clothing and shorts or trousers that can be easily rolled up. Avoid applying creams or lotions to your legs. The examination is performed standing, so comfortable footwear is recommended. A referral is required.
